HOW TO GET TO MAKUTO ?

From the bus station: Take bus nº3 at the main entrance of the bus station and get off in Gran Vía with Reyes Católicos stop (city center, estimated time: 15 min). Walk about 20 meters to reach the Reyes Católicos statue and take either bus nº 31 or nº 32 towards “Albayzín”, those buses go along some streets of “El Albayzín” and will enable you to see certain part of the Alhambra. Get off in Santa Isabel La Real monastery. La Tiña street is in front of the door of the monastery (estimated time: 10 minutes).

From the airport: Take the airport bus to Granada and get off in Gran Vía con Reyes Católicos stop (city center, estimated time: 25 min.). Walk about 20 meters to reach the Reyes Católicos statue and take either bus nº 31 or nº 32 towards “Albayzín”, those buses go along some streets of “El Albayzín” and will enable you to see certain part of the Alhambra. Get off in Santa Isabel La Real monastery. La Tiña street is in front of the door of the monastery (estimated time: 10 minutes).
Note: The price for a ticket is 90 centimes and it is possible to buy a 9 trips voucher for 5 € and a 20 trips voucher for 10 €. Both, tickets and vouchers can be bought in the bus. If you buy a voucher, the same bus ticket can be used in different buses during one hour without additional cost. Time starts counting from the moment you take the first bus.

BY TAXI
Direct access to Makuto is not possible by taxi, therefore, you should ask the driver to leave you at the entrance of the Santa Isabel la Real monastery. La Tiña street is in front of that entrance.

BY CAR
Access by car is very complicated, due to traffic regulations in Granada. From 8:00 to 22:00 h only authorized vehicles can circulate along the city center. Furthermore, access to “El Albayzín” is controlled by automatic bollards that restrict access from Monday to Thursday between 11:00-14:00h and 20:00 -24:00h, from Friday to Sunday the restriction takes place between 11:00-14:00h and 20:00-05:00h. The only way to avoid these restrictions is by taking the old road to Murcia. In order to take this itinerary, you must follow the exit: Méndez Núñez from the circumvallation road (see map). In addition, it is very difficult to park in “El Albayzín” because most of the parking areas are only for residents, so we advise you to park your car as soon as you get into the city and take a taxi or a bus.
